Taken just a few minutes after passing me! That was a great trip! Great shot Herb.

Thanks Thom! Got lucky with the flue sanding. I was also shooting video from my tripod when she went by. Good stuff!

Were you down around Sullivan's? There wasn't a lot of light left when she passed through.

That sky makes it a really dramatic view.

      :D

Thanks BoxcabE50. The "Golden Hour" of light was upon us at this time. It made for all kinds of great effects. I'll dig out the color version of this image and post it for comparison.

Herb...Im pretty sure I was at the crossing in your shot with the ATSF Yellow Bonnets you just posted. I was trackside on the SP all day until I go word of 3751 coming. I think that is Swarthout Canyon road? I know its near Blue Cut on the Santa Fe.

OK Thom, that is Swarthout Canyon Road alright. Do you have a shot to post of the '51 coming up through Blue Cut? Would like to see that!

lol, I never really did know the name of that road. Thanks to Micro Soft maps I figured it out. I don't have the shot of her coming through there. My dad came along on those trips, and he used my camera to shot her. I did record the sound of her coming through as I used to record most all SP train's on audio tape, so I had the recorder with me. I also recored her on the 28th at Woodford, and the 29th at Mojave under the HWY 14 bridge. But all pics were taken by my dad.
