Since 1987 I've visited the SPARKS YARD often - saw tons of SP diesels that were really just plain dirty. Here come the UP wit their spic and span motive power. Not any more - this puppy takes the trophy for DIRTIEST DIESEL of THE YEAR _ DECADE

      Looks like to simulate that weathering I would put the engine into a bag of charcoal and shake...man,I have never seen one that dirty!

      That one must see alot of DPU service,And not alot of wash racks!
      I see a few filthy ones in my area,But that one is a mess!

      That soot is so heavy, it looks more like fire damage! Another example of "there's a prototype for everything!"
