The Smith City Railroad. [2006]
This is an N gauge layout which I designed & built for a friend. [He did the scenery & detailing] The painted backdrop is by Murray Campbell...Our local tame artist! It has a double tracked mainline with several hidden staging tracks.There is plenty of switching to do, both in the yard & at several industries, so all locos & rolling stock are fitted with Microtrains couplers. The layout was built to fit into a room measuring 10'-2"x7''-6" & is in three sections bolted together so it can be dismantled for moving. It is DC controlled, all turnouts fitted with switch motors,& has three operator panels.
