WOW! that's rare to see a GP30 in the YN3 paint. Nice catch. Now if only atlas would release these in N scale. :D

Thanks! I about begged my mom to take me to togany to see it as i am not old enough to drive yet, but it would be nice if atlas would start producing these.

Yeah these are one of my favorite locos. I have two in the C&O and two in the B&O with the sunburst nose and two in the Chessie scheme. And would love a pair in the CSX YN2 or YN3 scheme. But I never seen a survivor and not to mention in the YN3 scheme. This give me hope that Atlas might bring out this loco in N scale.

To be honest i never really liked them until recently when i saw a picture of one in chessie. It looked so good. And yes ive seen one in YN2, it didn't look as good as one in YN3 but atlas should release both for different time periods.

Atlas did release the YN2 GP30 not sure when but it was a while ago. But they didn't release them in the YN3 yet. At first I didn't like the YN3 but then it kinda grew on me because it reminded me of the C&O/B&O paint scheme minus the white cab roof.

Ya it kinda does. haha! I never noticed that. I guess I never compared the two. CSX should just do a GP30 heritage unit already.

Try to google CSX 4617. Its a surviving CSX/C&O SD40 that was not painted to the CSX scheme till 04.

O that is a sweet loco even with the CSX patch. Just the C&O colors make it look good.
