And here is yet another critter. This one was still operational and I was able to ride behind it. It was built in 1951 for a two foot gauge railway hauling coal at a mine in Ohai, New Zealand. It now belongs to The Blenheim Riverside Railway Society in New Zealand.

Another summer weekend of temperatures near 100, so I'll stay indoors and make another trip to the archives. From August 1990 in Montgomery, AL, SBD, CSX and Chessie power team up under what looks like a vintage C & O signal bridge. That's the Union Station train shed to the right.

There is a tall structure behind that signal bridge. Is it an elevator?

At first glance it looks much like Bachmann On30!

NS SD70ACe #1032 is the leader on a BNSF m-o-w train. In NW Montana, 1032 far, far from home rails! A solid consist of hoppers, all full of new wooden ties:

Yes, you are spot on and it's very old. In fact, the ground floor was repurposed into Amtrak's depot during the brief life of the Birmingham <=> Mobile Gulf Breeze, serving from late 1989 to 1995. I'm not sure if it still stands. Built in 1898, Montgomery's large Union Station happily remains. It once served the L&N, ACL, WRofA, SAL, CofG and the GM&O!

Buddy- I'd swear I saw something about a tower being recently demolished in Iowa. Do you know where that happened? Seems like it was supposedly on the east side of the state? Ex-RI?

Strange, but OP&E #11 seems to be the only piece of their motive power which has no follow on history. It appears to have simply disappeared!
