Eugen, that's lovely model...it is model, right? You've done such a great job, I have a reasonable doubt. (y)

I saw some interesting equipment and combinations repairing damage on CSX after Hurricane Katrina in 2006.

The last photo is a machine that aims lasers at mirrors on the platform approximately 10 meters ahead to align the rails by adjusting ballast, which also is done by the machine in photos #2 and #3, though a different configuration with a similar function.

Is that a kit? Or did it come as an assembled model?

    That’s a Hobbytrain model ( KATO )

It’s more or less assembled, you have a view parts to assemble.

Eugen, those are beautiful models. Although I have never seen the orange equipment before. Is it a modern version of the old Donkey Crane?

That is some fine MOW equipment. But, I am also admiring the backdrop. Where are we? Just outside of LAX?

Nice MOW equipment, and something that you rarely see modeled. I pick up one of those I think the name is a Plasser cars (like the one at the top of this Thread) from Germany a few years ago along with Tichy Kits.

    Sehr gut!
Where the planes are, is called the Bone Yard.
    From the web site:
"The Mojave airport is also a storage facility for commercial airliners, due to the vast area and dry desert conditions.

Large Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Lockheed, and Airbus aircraft owned by major airlines are stored at times at Mojave. Some aircraft reach the end of their useful lifetime and are scrapped at the Mojave aircraft boneyard, while others are refurbished and returned to active service."

I also LOVE MOW stuff !!! I have all 4 of MTs MOW sets, a complete set of Tichy stuff, including 2 rotary plows, 3 Walthers wedge plows, and 3 snowmelters from NSE. My first model railroad purchase EVER was a Tyco (HO scale) crane and boom tender. I was 9 or 10, bought it on lay-a-way at Sears, and paid $6 for it. Had to cut Grandma's yard several times to get it !!! So...YES, I LOVE MOW stuff !!!

The orange crane is an IBERTREN model (out of production). They made a set with 2 more cars, you can find the 2 and the 4 car set on auction sites. The models where produced in orange, yello and dark green.
