But, if he can get that time machine, then he can go back to when BLMA was not yet owned by Atlas, right? Maybe that is what his post was really about, all along?
Well shoot, didn't hear about that. BLMA made some neato products that the larger companies would overlook. So much for that.
I'm sure there was a non-compete clause in the sale. So we won't be seeing him make anything for quite some time to come.
Well if Atlas decides to not make something he used to make, then he would not be competing if he made it again, right?
Haven't been very impressed with Atlas product for a pretty long time. I was a big time BLMA customer, and now depressed because Atlas has their products.
We have to give them a moment or two to gather themselves and I'm sure with time products will start to trickle out at the quality level we were accustomed to from BLMA.
Simply put, there are a few of us (realizing that number is really small) who enjoy actually modeling a locomotive per the prototype and adding all those details BLMA offered rather than opening a plastic box and setting a loco or freight car down and calling it modeling. Hopefully someone picks up the void of grab irons, cab details and all or its HO for me.
1) Craig is still working along with us, and will be for a few years. 2) We have no intention of discontinuing any of the BLMA product line. 3) There were some projects that BLMA had lined up (tooling not started but lined up) that we have moved forward.
Nice to hear this "from the horse's mouth". This kind of thing is what gets people worried when acquisitions happen... that their favorite things, the best parts of the "acquiree" will just vanish into the void. Happens all the time with the more "competitive" type M&As... It's nice to hear that this is not at all that sort of acquisition (though I believe you've made that clear before in other threads)
Paul, Great to hear, you have a great product line on your hands. So when are you going to make a heisler to help out those shays on the logging line?
Paul, Thanks for commenting on this thread and giving us the goals of Atlas/BLMA. I love your products but was horrified that I might not get the detail parts anymore. If you guys really do the detail parts that Craig used to supply the small percentage of us who detail our stuff, than kudos to you. By the way, a huge thank you for doing the nicely done PS1 boxcars in undec! B&M Boxcars by Jim Wiggin posted Mar 4, 2016 at 7:37 AM
