Here's the correct price for the LEDs: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-pcs-Pre-...490096?hash=item2a5fa846b0:g:S7gAAOSwGotWmm9r
So how does that compare to the alleged response from perfectdeal that the last ones sold for $369.00 or so? Sounds to me like perfectdeal has a not-so-perfect grasp on reality. Opinion.
What is really interesting with the link are the photos. They are the same as the wehonest_us seller's (with whom I have bought lots of items) pre-wired LEDs, which ship from China. So, perfectdeal_us is simply distributing from the US ? At $0.70 to $0.80 each for pre-wired 0603 and 0402 LEDs, not a bad deal if you aren't comfortable with doing your own But, these are on 29 AWG wire, and while good for some applications, you really need magnet wire for really cramped spaces
egato has several notations on this very thread. Most are so far over the top to be ludicrous. Opinion.
Ya'll might have seen this back in January but I could not find it in a quick search... MayHayRed does penny auctions on Ebay. I'm sure you've seen his listings. He has found an honest niche that quite often pays amply. Must have a dedicated following that mistrust all other sellers as his stuff tends to bid up higher than most like items do. He often builds a kit straight out of the box and makes a a few bucks with it. This one blew me away. Just found it in a search. Not sure what I am missing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEWLY-BUILT...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Possible bidders are that competitive? Or did he "mislead" in his description - "interior scenes"...? For the most part, one can't accuse him of not being fair as everything starts at $.01. But this auction made me think he has developed quite a "gimmick" for Ebay.
Wow! Maybe his mother and grandmother were bidding against each other using multiple accounts? If that is real, I could go into business buying $30 kits and some CA and selling them for 10X the price. I wouldn't even need paint. Steve
Here is a great deal only double the new kato price. Maybe it is vintage and rare. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RIX-N-Scale...435999?hash=item4afd129f5f:g:C4wAAOSw5L9XDk3s
I can only imaging what he could have gotten if he built a nicer kit (the IHC kits were junk and couldn't be given away) and actually used some...say paint? Maybe I've found a calling, if only I could get a price guarantee (I know, I would always be guaranteed the $.01 starting price)
On one hand l***p and a***r both have plenty of feedback (113 and 300), but neither had bid on anything in the last 30 days. Not a single item. Most of the 'bidding' was apparently automatic as well since it mostly occurred in the last 2 minutes of the auction. The only other serious bidders, S***8 dropped out at $23 and R***2 at $46.
LOL thanks for the laughs guys... this whole thread is a hoot... and if you look at the states where some of these adds originate, you get the feeling they are getting some REALLY Good Mellow Stuff to legally toke .... LOL kd.
Here's my recent favorite. I did buy similar ones new, once upon a time. Maybe paid $50 altogether, not $500. I'm gonna go through my junk box tonight, by this logic, I probably have close to $3000 just lying around collecting dust. http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-gauge-Rai...881608?hash=item3ac148df48:g:uB4AAOSwq19XCnlq " Seller Notes:“As is from a collectors basement. New and bought one by one over $500.00 value. Now with age and rareness, priceless.” In case its gone when you read this- those priceless antiques are 4 Lima or MP heavyweights and 3 MP short lightweights
high speed strikes again. Notice there run well. ya right and only 9.99 http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-RIO...974137?hash=item2cab07c4f9:g:hQwAAOSwPc9WzNSB
If you click on the sold link on the listing page you will see that they all sold for 7.99 - so this was just a listing error, the decimal point got dropped.
Many posts back, or maybe it was another thread on "how to bid on eBay", there was a member who said that sometimes he put in a ridiculously high price to be sure he would get an item he wanted, and I posted that some seller would hit the jackpot if two guys who think like that ended-up bidding on the same item. Maybe that is what happened here? Steve
