Another weekend is in the books, how did you do? My weekend was good, got some reading done on Prototype Operations and cleaned up the work shop some. Saturday was another vehicle misadventure. I purchased a a 2004 Pontiac at Auction a while back and finally had a chance to have it looked at. Unfortunately the engine was toast and since I paid next to nothing for it, off to the scrap yard it went hopefully to be recycled into something useful. Lesson learned, I'll only buy Jeeps. I got a good check for it so nothing really lost but time. Sunday, I spent the rest of the day getting the cork foundation down and now that is behind me, phew! When I build the other modules, I will not do what I did on these! Next I wired up my new 12 VDC transformer to power the Tam Valley Octopus servo drivers on module 2. Octopus Power by Jim Wiggin posted Feb 15, 2016 at 6:57 AM Once that was done and working, I carefully leveled the modules, placed them back together and cleaned the track. No real high points between modules to sand, however the two tracks between modules 1 & 2 have a high spot, so I'll carefully remove the track there and sand the high points until the track meets up nice and level. We are getting reports that it will be in the high 50's here on Friday and if that is the case, it looks like the track will finally get painted. So how about you? Did you get a lot done this weekend? Tell us about it! We'll come back again on Friday the 19th and do it all again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and... High Greens!
Finished my SW-1 (See: Weekend Photo Fun February 12, 2016). Worked on some troublesome covered hoppers (I think, I have finally got the issues worked out). That's about it. Wolf
I didn't really get anything done, but I did get a Western Pacific GP40-2 in the mail Saturday. 006 by WPZephyrFan posted Feb 13, 2016 at 3:25 PM Sunday, a friend and I went to the Sacramento Autorama at Cal Expo. Had a blast! So many beautiful cars but I have a soft spot for early Japanese cars. This Datsun 510 was one of my favorites at the show.
Nice looking car. Straight, clean and it does not have ridiculous wheels on it, which overpower the rest of the vehicle.
That is a super nice 510! I worked on taxes, so I can figure out my hobby budget for the next few months. I figure I owe a fair amount this year since I paid off my school loans. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Well, also couple that with I don't have deductions taken out by my contractor, so I owe about six months worth there. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
2 parts paint to one water? I'm sure that's too thin. Trying to recall... Seems to me more like 4 to 1 is plenty thin.
