Peering through the woods down by the Brazos River in Richmond, Texas, I think I see a locomotive coming out from behind a building on Mud Alley and about to cross the bridge.
I managed to get a couple of cars complete this week with several others under construction. First up is a McKeen Models ACF 50' Combination Door Boxcar kit, changed the kit door to a 9' Slider to match the prototype, added Details West Extended Coupler Pockets and A-Line Sill Steps, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and then lettered with Highball Graphics Decals. This is a Hi-Tech Models 40' PS HY-Cube Boxcar kit, can't be seen but I added airlines, levers and rodding for the brake gear to complement the sparse under body details, all replaced the plastic sill steps with A-Line sill steps. Painted the car with Scalecoat II Aluminum (Roof) and Boxcar Red, then lettered with Mask Island Decals for this car. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
Another new year and another new layout. Here's the first photo of the PCM&T Co. Dead Tree Mine Subdivision. This is my last layout, too old, so I hope you like what little you see today. Happy New Year, Jim
Jim, that's a beautiful scene from the weathering to the subject matter. You are a great artist and craftsman. That big tree is fantastic.
Great pictures all. FINALLY made good on my promise to run a train in the new train room BEFORE the end of 2015. Flooring is being finished with only shoe-molding to be put down. I should be building bench work within a couple of weeks.
This was from a while ago. The building is an old Heljan kit. I didn't like the European styled roof, so I swapped it out with some sheet styrene shingles....
Only took two pics of trains at the Modutrak Fun Run..... My still in progress Cabbage: And one of Bill's noisy units:
