Russell, sure like how the foreground scenery blends into the backdrop on the picture, looks like you are in the middle of nowhere!

Managed to finish a few cars this week!

First up is a Kadee PS 2003CF Covered Hopper, painted with Scalecoat II MofW Gray and lettered with Champ Decals.

Atlas 3 Bay ACF Cylindrical Covered Hopper kit, painted with Scalecoat II MofW Gray and lettered with Islington Station Products decals. Leased and Anheiser-Busch to haul grain to their breweries.

Grand Trunk Western Rebuilt 50' Boxcar, with roofwalk removed and lowered brake gear. Started with a Front Range ACF 50' Boxcar Kit, substituted a much better looking Branchline Models Diagonal Panel Roof and a 10' Accural Youngstown Steel Door and A-Line Sill Steps. Painted car with Floquil GTW Blue paint and lettered with Microscale Decals.

    See you all later!

Thanks. The Katy did run through a lot of nowhere to get from here to there. We get spoiled out here on the prairie as you can see the trains from far off. When I railfan out east around Roanoke, VA, often times I can hear the trains long before I see them.

This is a fictional scene as the real one would not have CN or gondolas or flats. This is the veiw as a train pulls into WINNIPEG beach

Starting the weekend off by making hats out of brass eyelets. The guy on the left is wearing a top hat made from an eyelet. The guy on the right is wearing some sort of wide-brimmed hat made by crimping an eyelet closed. The other three are stock figures for comparison.

Very convincing scene. What really caught my eye was between the sidewalk sections where it really looks unkempt. One of the "little things" which drives the realism.

I agree all great shots, looks like everyone is having fun!!
Here is a couple pics of my wife Vicki's contribution to the MRR. Her recycling out fit, there is a lot little details in here, we had a blast putting it together.
    Please carry on.

Thanks for the compliments. This is a Proto 1000 RDC custom-lettered for my railroad, and I just finished installing the lit interior, and replacing the stock circuit board with the old-school 6-diode constant/reversing circuit. The unrealistic LED headlight was replaced with 1.5v incandescent bulbs for my DC layout.
