Very nice. Do you know the history of this artifact? When created, where used, etc?

I guess this means those BNSF engines are trespassing? At least I am betting a few Santa Fe fans believe so.....

This sign was ignored. This is a brick arch overpass was constructed in the 1880s by the Gulf Colorado & Santa Fe just south of Somerville, Texas. The BNSF now runs over it.

Reminds me of a MILW bridge near old home territory. Every week a Weyerhaeuser log truck would scrape under it, if not worse. As many times as they drove that route, and it was clearly marked, those drivers just kept on hitting the bridge. DUH.

Not railroad, but a gate required by the TSA at airports.

I'm sure that the airport management did exactly what the directive said...Every Airport Shall Install a Security Gate. So they did.

The caption to this picture should read....."Oh No, You Did What I Told You To Do."

BTW, thank you for posting this. I'm getting a lot of mileage from it.....(y)

Reminds me of the toll booth in the middle of nowhere in Blazing Saddles.

It's been too long, so I think tonight Blazing Saddles will be the movie I watch.
