Switch engines have always fascinated me. They can be used to perform switching duties in a yard or industrial setting as well as local freight hauling. Their design provides for some interesting paint schemes. I particularly like the Zebra stripe schemes found on many units. One of my favorites is an Atlas ATSF VO-1000 with Zebra stripes. For my modern era layout running BNSF I wanted a switcher painted in the "swoosh" scheme. After many years of searching I finally found an Atlas MP-15DC model with this scheme.

Hmmm. I've never really thought about it. An SW1 for certain, but none are available, (as yet), in my scheme. However, there is nothing like listening to a GP9's 567B at work. So those have done a lot of switching for me in the past. Guess I'd better get one painted!

Yard Goats. Sorry no pictures I can post here. The one I wanted I had and it was stolen right off my layout.

A short chunky 0-6-0 switch in NP's L-9 class. The B-man is just too long to bashup...:(

Been there. By someone I thought was a friend. Crazy, as he's an HO person and took an N item.

This is what I want. The flat hood section in front of the cab, with high arched cab front windows. Hoping they'll come in a next run:

Mine was stolen by an alleged friend as well. It was a game with him to see how much he could remove before getting caught. I later learned he tried to put it on consignment at a local hobby shop. The owner suspecting something was up declined. He in turn sold it for $20.00 to a customer standing near by. All to support an alcohol addiction. In time I hope to replace it.

I'd like a model of the above to switch my grain elevator.

    Sad indeed.

So when is Kato or Atlas going to announce the production of these SW1's? They are SW1's aren't they?

I don't need anything else from Badman.

My switcher can beat up your switcher...

...unless your switcher brings along its twin.

Just paint "Cotton Belt" on it and you'll be all set.
