We've just created a new item for folks to start using -- Resources. This is a repository for files that you, the users of TrainBoard, wish to share with others. Examples are track plans, structure plans, vector or bitmaps files for signs, etc. Other users can access these files, directly via the Resources menu selection, and download the files. I will be the TB Staff Manager for this area.

By having an area such as this, you will not need to search through the different forum threads, trying to find "that file that 'so and so' (wish I could remember his name) posted showing how best to...." Instead, we now have a searchable document library area, where our members can post these files, along with descriptions / pictures / etc., for anyone interested to access.

To start us off, I have created three main sections: Track Plans, Structure Plans and Signs. I have created sub-categories, by scale, under Track plans, but have not (as of yet), created any under Structures or Signs. My thought for Structures is to see how others might suggest (by scale, by structure type, etc); for Signs - possibly by type (RR signs, road signs, billboards, business, ???)

We will be expanding the default file extensions to allow common program data to be uploaded. Please let us know if you need one (immediate adds will be .ANY (AnyRail), .XTC (XtrakCad) and .DXF (CAD interchange). Others allowed are:
    zip
    txt
    pdf
    png
    jpg
    jpeg
    jpe
    gif
    psd
    tif

Major rule - please only post files which you have permission to share. No commercial postings, please.

The TB staff hopes this new feature will be of benefit to everyone.

Is that the actual extension? I will add it to the "to be updated" list. Hope to get a comprehensive list of updates and do at once.

Great idea Rick. I'm not sure if a separate category would be needed for Scratch building, but there are quite a few modelers that scratch build or kitbash rolling stock, as well as structures. I'm not good with rolling stock but it might be worth an addition to this new Trainboard feature.

Can we add files with extensions for MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word and for the open source versions of Word and Excel?

    Lot's of luck with this.
Don't make the rules to tight.
For the titles of the ongoing file, do limit the abbreviations If you knows what I mean.
I vaguely have some idea of what today's electronic and computer aberrations stand for.
    So keep it simple.
You know for simpletons like me.o_O
