Parked in the Tigard Or yard in 2010.

I have PNWR decals and a GP40 set aside to do this unit. Just need to find time to do it.

What is the heritage of this unit? Looks sort of like Susquehanna type colors.

Any idea what was under that plastic? Something for power generation? Or?

Every time I drive through Hearne, I look for this old guy. It still has evaded the dreaded UP patch. I found it on Sunday tucked away on the east side of the yard. I heard its days were numbered as UP wants to use that number for a new locomotive to be delivered.

Nice. An actual L&A box car. I'd like to see the side of it, to view the lettering layout.

And it appears to be a Milwaukee Road box car across the ditch.

    Box,

You asked about the covered load up a few posts.

My guess iis it or they are portable boilers going somewhere for a temporary set up.

The reason I say that is that shot looks very similar to a boiler shipment that I oversaw from El Paso back to Dallas before I retired in 1996. You can see three flanges on the visible end. If I can find it I'll post a picture of the one in El Paso.

    I found it

Saw these in Glendive yard this last week. Guess harvest must be heavy enough to warrant lots of power sharing.
PIC_0815.JPG And then this set, even tho I was on the wrong side, lighting wise, but here's that CIT unit with a couple of fallen flag bandit lease units.

The orange n green/black parade with, oh look! More coal cars! gets a little monotonous occasionally. So foreign power and mixed freight is a treat!
