These two loads came up the CSX Ohio River Sub. from Huntington,WV to Point Pleasant,WV. This the interchange yard between NS and CSX. They will be heading on the NS West Virginia Sec.
Every time I drive through Hearne, I look for this old guy. It still has evaded the dreaded UP patch. I found it on Sunday tucked away on the east side of the yard. I heard its days were numbered as UP wants to use that number for a new locomotive to be delivered.

Box, You asked about the covered load up a few posts. My guess iis it or they are portable boilers going somewhere for a temporary set up. The reason I say that is that shot looks very similar to a boiler shipment that I oversaw from El Paso back to Dallas before I retired in 1996. You can see three flanges on the visible end. If I can find it I'll post a picture of the one in El Paso. I found it
Saw these in Glendive yard this last week. Guess harvest must be heavy enough to warrant lots of power sharing. And then this set, even tho I was on the wrong side, lighting wise, but here's that CIT unit with a couple of fallen flag bandit lease units.
The orange n green/black parade with, oh look! More coal cars! gets a little monotonous occasionally. So foreign power and mixed freight is a treat!
