Are there any new track pieces in this set, or is this essentially an announcement for a box? Is the "loop with passing siding" configuration intended to be similar to the 'N-2' layout shown in the track catalog, but without the two spur tracks?
Probably because some of the existing catalog numbers are for a package containing multiples of the same item (the 5" straight, for example) whereas the catalog numbers used for the set are likely for single pieces.
Thanks, Paul. It appears that I am not alone in wondering about some of the other n-scale items such as locomotives that were listed in other announcement regarding new from Atlas. I recall seeing a 4-4-0 in several road names. Thanks.
Except each piece of 5" straight has always had 2501 on it and the packages of 6 have always had that too. Same with the other original sectional track. 9 3/4' radius - 2510, 11" radius - 2520, 19" radius - 2526, etc. I suppose these numbers are just for this set. It's still strange, however. Doug
No new track pieces. Our dealers have been asking for a track pack that they can use to create their own sets. We have offered a similar product in HO for years. Yes, just like N 2 but without the spurs.
That is the only new announcement that isn't shown in the recently released catalog covering July-December. There are other items in the works, but not to a point where we are ready to announce them.
Please provide me with an item number and I will check for you. We have shipped about 95% of the production and there are only a few pieces in stock.
