I needed one of these for my Kato UP excursion train. Had to bash two Microtrain plug door box cars together to get it. I last saw this car in Hearne, Texas a few days before it was wrecked over in Round Rock, Texas.

Russell, nice work on a unique car!

I managed to get some cars finished this week!

Very nice Russell. Could not resist. I need to change the trucks or cut off the coupler and body mount. The screwed up decal happened after it was finished, but I will keep it 'till KATO makes one. Yeah, that's likely. Oh, BTW, I mixed the paint and came pretty close to a match of KATO, don't you think?

I was busy this week with some more Japanese locos, but these were steam. 008.JPG
This is a Kato JNR C11 "suburban" loco.

Finally, a Kato D51. I have one more steam loco and one electric loco to do and then it's onto the American equipment.

For a long time I wanted to give my MOW contractor a space of his own. I don't have room for a full size layout yet so I setteled on a 30x40cm or 12"x16" base plate that can eventually be added to a full size layout. I designed the building and had it 3D printed, as well as a gantry crane and a lot of other stuff. After my first week of vacation here's the first result. It's a first mockup of the site. The building is not finished yet, the crane needs rails etc etc but the idea seems to be working. I took the opportunity to take some pictures of the stuff I have designed.

I have made the models I had printed available to whoever could use it via Shapeways at https://www.shapeways.com/shops/Ngineer.

The side under construction, the window frames and down spouts were wiped out in the polisher, but I'll fix that.

This is really nice! I've seen some where I doubted the car body color, usually darker. This hue looks perfect.

Candy, the contents of your sketch pad must be overflowing with detailed drawings, many results of which are displayed in this excellent assemblage. (y)

The power line and electrical meters are an especially nice touch. You need to get your work in Model Railroader's trackside photos.

Well, I think your photos are of the same caliber of many that they select. I am sure a lot of those they receive a not in the same league so are politely rejected. Go for it. :)

I agree. You got most of them beat by a mile. The lighting effects are top rate.

Just be sure to include some rail if not a part of a train car. They like that.

As for Trackside Photos you'd better be in the 'in' crowd if you want your photo to appear in your lifetime. Jim
