I don't really understand why people seem to keep denying this, year after year. The average pay of factory workers in China is 1/10 that of US workers. What more needs to be known? It takes more money to make stuff in the US, and people don't want to pay those higher prices. It's not a conspiracy.
What's more worrisome is the economy over there. It's sagging, and their stock market is shaky. What happens to manufacturing and that equipment if it continues slipping downward?
Wages are only part of the equation. If it were, then items made in China would cost only 10% of those made in the US. But that is not the case. How about the shipping costs across the Pacific ocean? How about the broker's profit and the Chinese manufacturer's profit? At one time the average wage in China may have been 10% of that in the US but is it still that way??? People are still claiming that people in North Korea are starving but I have yet to see any pictures of starving North Koreans. The fact is that back in the 1990's North Korea suffered a 3 year drought which affected the rice harvest. But humanitarian aid arrived and the people were fed. But now, 20 years later people are still saying the North Koreans are starving but they are not. That whole story is bullcrap. So there is a lot more that needs to be known about China and the mere repetition of outdated information is not sufficient. As far as any conspiracy goes, no one has alleged any conspiracy so why mention it? It may well be that there are other factors at work here. If so, what are they?
I consulted the Atlas website for my information. The S-2 was not included in their information as to dates announced/made. But you are correct. It is their newest locomotive.

US corporations will always act in their own best interests. It is still in their own best interests to send manufacturing overseas. When it becomes in their own best interests to move manufacturing back to the US, they'll do so.
Per a June 4 2015 BLMA blog entry (scroll down to see it), these should be arriving late July/early August, so it really should be any day now. It seems like both of the announced schemes might be en route - they are both shown in the video posted on the blog. They look really good!
True. Also true of those in China and all others world wide who actually wish to survive, and hopefully even thrive.
