John, does your locomotive shop work on SP engines? ;)

This is one of my first "N" scale steamers that I bought in 1968. Before that I had two Lone Star 000 0-8-0 switchers but they don't count. It started out as an Arnold Rapido heavy pacific that I heavily kit bashed in later years.

This is my modification of the MP 4-6-2 Valley Flyer. I replaced the tender with a Bachmann URSA medium tender, but put the shell from the MP tender on the Bachmann base. I attached the MP drawbar to the front internal bolt on the inside of the Bachmann tender. It gives a nice close couple. Unfortunately, the MP shell is not a snap on fit, you have to cut out the area where the MP tender base screws into the shell. The last picture is the real locomotive.

    Have fun, Mark

Russ, it makes me sad that you said Treble-O-Lectric 0-8-0s don't count. :crying:

Oh all right. They did run on 9 mm track. Just not very well. I wish I still had them but somewhere along the line they dissapeared. I had even converted them to Rapido couplers by epoxying some coupler pockets to the modified rear power trucks on the tenders. That part actually worked out quite well. They still ran like scalded dogs.

Bachmann 2-6-6-2 with delta trailing truck and a Kato mike with a shortened Bachmann USRA 2-6-6-2 boiler and delta truck boyt for my freelance line. ( I used santa Fe tender numbers) I got a little too heavy on the weathering on the mike,I plan to add some black washes to darken the running gear.

Very nice. Looks like both have seen long months of heavy road service.

Milwaukee Road C2 2-8-0 . Atlas 0-8-0 tender shell on Bachmann short USRA tender The Number is not correct but I did not want to change the tiny head light numbers so use this number on the cab.

2-8-8-0 modified Walthers Y3. It look funny with the empty space where the trailing truck was so I added some frame detail to it. I really like the design of theses engines and it would be fun to see other kitbashes with the LL/Walthers 2-8-8-2. In the Ntrak 2015 steam annual has a nice UP bull moose. Any others?
