What are you doing model or prototype train-wise this summer?
    Me? I'll I Hope:
    • To find a freight line / yard we can drive to, (likely)
    • To get trains running on the 'Grey and Gransure X', (highly probable)
    • To make a 'Dinosaur Train' for the 5yo, (nice to have)
    • To build a hyper-modern city to sit over the 'new' 'Olde Grandure Yard', (not likely but we shall see)

And you? What do you hope to do?
    • Trips?
    • Models?
    • Rail fanning
    • Layout?
    • Stretch goal?
    Please do share.

On the way to Niles canyon to ride the train with the boys. The club is getting a special behind the scenes tour of Sunol as part of it, but not sure I will join dye to the kids.

I will find time to work on my mine scene at the club.

I have a couple of projects to try and squeeze in between lawn chores. Work on my layout, work on my clubs layout, help a fellow modeler rewire his layout, get modules ready for a show in July, railfan the CSX Hudson river line between bear mountain and Kingston NY. I also have to finish my kitchen rebuild and master bedroom updating.

Summer work, work, work. Am refurbishing some old barns this month, which is FUN!

Trains? Some railfanning when I can and just running some trains to relax when time allows. Tis the time of year to do the outdoors work and prep for next winter.

And of course the kids will have stuff for dad to do...:)

Once again summer is just about on us. I went out to the train shed to check things on the layout. Winter, once again, has not been kind to the layout. I will need to replace track that has moved around or blown out. At the cost of code 80, flex track per stick...I don't know I may have to resort to a single mainline. Spent the weekend doing none railroad things weed abatement. Not done yet.

A little here and there. No room for a layout at the moment. Been messing around with 1/35th modern US military equipment and woodworking projects. Did spend Thursday (6/4) late afternoon trackside on the UP Overland Route in Iowa watching the action. 5 trains in 45 mins is not bad.

Maybe a little train watching. Mostly hoping to do more at the modeling work bench. I have a stack of projects collected through too many years now. Can't seem to whittle it down enough!

    Grey One,

this may not be what you were looking for but I have basically three hobbies, used to have 4 when I played golf, but I got tired of playing military golf. You know right, left, right, left .....and so on.

My main summer hobby is my yard ..............

The other summer, actually turns out to be pretty much year round is my Koi fish pond, an ongoing project. Everything is DIY. Longboard Lager "on tap".

Sandwiched in between these is my most favorite and that is N scale railroading. I am a member of the Southern New Mexico N Scalers N scale layout, along with 6 other very talented individuals. We have a layout at the Southern New Mexico Fairgrounds and we are busy getting it ready for the annual Fair. So my home layout has suffered but still "playing trains". Can't beat it.

    Carl
