I've been looking but I cannot find a source for the motor contact springs for the MTL gp9. I need 4 springs I anyone has a source could they please share?
They haven't been available for quite awhile. I'm now using magnetic wire soldered in it's place, as I've experienced the springs act like a fuse in an electrical short (derailed loco), so I wanted thin wire for the task. And I don't create a mechanical bond to the solder points in case of another short. My opinion, your mileage may vary, James
I was looking at the Rokuhan room lights and they use a set of springs for electrical contact to the light board. I wonder of they would work and maybe they could be sourced through Rokuhan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8w6Jfig3Ow This video shows the springs used for installation. Trey
Ok, I found 4 springs for James, but he said to give them to you. PM me at ljsnyder@charter.net Loren
Didn't you mean chump? ) I imagine there are a few or many who feel chump is better than champ. I answer to both however. Loren
I got the springs today and have the engines back up and running. Thanks again Loren. I'm glad there are people like you in the hobby!
That is nice of you to say that, but let's be more accurate.......there are many wonderful helpful folks in this hobby. We are modeling a wonderful scale and we need to always try to assist each other whenever we can. Thank you. Loren
