And Friday the thirteenth rolls around yet one more time. This Missouri Pacific freight is bound to have bad luck.
I caught a pair of NYC E7s pulling a short OCS train over some newly laid track. The E7s are Life Like (n scale) models that have ESU Loksound installed with LED lighting.
After a very long absence due to multiple factors (moved to Florida in Sept 2012, never set up the layout in rental home, moved to our home in Oct 2013, then got laid off in March 2014 and am still looking for job)...... I finally have got the Santa Fe Peavine 4' x 4' layout set back up in our Florida home, and took a few pics: The above white cabinets are Ikea "BESTA" modular furniture system, in case you're interested. I got two 47.25" long x 15.75" wide x 40.125" tall shelves for the main supports, got another BESTA unit that fits between the two (with a slide out drawer to mount the power pack / NCE DCC unit). And ran a few trains - here's a quasi-fantasy set of SP Black Widow E9's: Hoping the coming week turns around in the job hunt. It's tough out there! If you have a job.... cherish it, it's no small feat to have one these days. Have a good weekend,
Here's what I meant in the post above, by the slide-out drawer for the power pack / DCC NCE Power Panel box: The black box on the right side of the slide out drawer is a Radio Shack project box, mounting the NCE DCC PowerPanel. There's an A/B switch to swap the layout's track power between the MRC 9500 DC and the NCE PowerCab DCC. Have a great weekend and Father's Day (USA).
Russell - no way an Eagle has bad luck. HOExplorer - nice angle for the "through the canyon" shot John - cool use for the slide-out drawer. Good luck on the hunt...been there, done that, and they don't even give you a t-shirt...
I had 9 campers at the first session of Rail Camp at the museum this summer. They built their own T-Trak modules. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
Ouch. Sorry to read of this life change. It has been a while. Glad to see you post again, and best wishes with your search!
Yeah, sorry to hear about your situation there John. Today I just found out that a very good old friend of mine, who went to work for one of the DCC manufacturers as a sales rep, just got terminated.
Mr. Sing! Good to see you back, my friend! Good luck on your search. I received some goodies in the mail today. The first is a Kato N scale JNR C57 4-6-2 steam loco. My camera photo just doesn't do it justice: I also picked up a Kato JNR Nichinan passenger train set to go with it:
Randy, sorry to hear this. Were you with MMA? Hope you can get on with another company local to your area.
I was MMA. Thanks for the thought , it is appreciated. My area is actually the Midwest. I came from the WC originally. Randy
Thanks Flash. Those are stock Life Like FA/FBs with the split frame chassis that came painted that way. I did put Unimate couplers on them. The GP18s are repowered with the newer LL GP20 mechanisms.
Bummer. I'm guessing this has something to do with company financial fallout, since that disaster in Canada? Best wishes for finding a new position, quickly!
Pictures from Lone Star Region Convention June 2014, Round Rock, Texas Live steam 7.5 inch gauge, Wimberly, Blanco and Southern. Fifteen acres, 15,000 feet of track, and starting to do operations and not just passengers. Photos here: More later this weekend, I hope. There were some great layouts.
