Or.... they have us looking west, and out comes an Art Deco NYC Hudson, with 20th Cent Ltd cars? [Hysterical maniacal laughter]
That would be my next guess... for a future steam locomotive from Kato. But... they might show 'scenery' shot of the New York skyline.
OK, I just got off the phone talking with a friend of mine who knows a family hosting a Japanese exchange student. This Japanese girl has an uncle who knows someone who lives next door to Hiroshi Kato in Kobi. While working in his garden this friend saw through the window, Hiroshi was playing with an N scale steam locomotive that had Union Pacific lettered on the side.
So do we have a firm confirmation on a model or is this another red herring…. or later April Fool's…...
I think it all hinges on whether or not folks actually read and believed the original post. If a person is willing to accept it at face value (I do), then there is little remaining doubt that we will have a formal announcement very soon.
Hmm Western leaning Kato is reported to be. What do you say Obi-wan is the 700 going to be next? I feel a vibration in the force field. Or was it those left over refried beans I had last night while visiting Luke.
So... here is the post in March of 2012... which alluded to a Kato steam locomotive in the 'works' for 2013 production: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevin...-Rumor&highlight=Union+Pacific+4-8-4+#844+FEF The 10th post on this thread from Robert3985... indicated an encounter with a Kato rep that essentially said a new steam locomotive would be produced. Obviously... we did not get a release of any NEW steam locomotive from Kato in 2013... so one would have dismissed this information as more rumor mongering. I personally feel that this may have been a slip-up from a Kato 'newbie' rep, rather than what an otherwise tight-lipped Kato representative would have said. It was just too early for a representative to say that something would be developed... particularly by Kato standards.
Ok, so I just saw this on another forum. Is it real, I don't know but I can recomend some nice water tenders. :teeth: -James
