    All,
Was looking at this piece, that Mom found up in Montana years ago.
Now, I'm wondering what it is, and what it's for. I was thinking truck
springs, but doubting that. Now, I'm thinking brake lines under a freight car.
Has lettering I can NOT make out, and carries the number 194037.

Top side, with unreadable lettering and number

Any ideas and/or suggestions much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    How big is it?

With the pointed spike looking things on the inside, I don't think it would be used for brake lines.

In my day, what we used to clamp or otherwise secure brake lines were not cast pieces. Those prongs inside suggest something soft was attached.

I'm thinking it's a holddown for somekind of conduit. Or a cable clamp maybe for a bridge.

A quick measurement shows 2 1/2 inches tall and 5 inches wide.
Guessing to be maybe a pound in weight, maybe pound and a half.
Wouldn't exact weight, unless I put on a small scale!
