hello folks i'm currently tired of custom painting cp rail units and considering to do a few leasing units. since i have a few sd40-2/sd45 in stock i would do them first. what leasing companies would you like to see ? which roadnumbers ? paint job only or fully detailed ?
Well can't say much about the details, but I really like lease units. They are able to be used in many different applications.
here's a list of the leasing units i have in stock : SD40 GCFX 3094 SD40-2 Mid CEFX 3104 SD40-2 Mid CEFX 3111 SD45 CEFX 3121 SD45 CEFX 3122 SD45 CEFX 3123 SD45 CEFX 3126 SD45 CEFX 3135 SD45 CEFX 3136 SD45 CEFX 3137 SD45 CEFX 3145 SD45 CEFX 3147 SD40-2 Mid CEFX 3160 SD40-2 Mid GCFX 6050 SD40-2 Mid GCFX 6051 SD40-2 Mid GCFX 6070 SD40-2 Mid GCFX 6073 SD40-2 Early GCFX 3072 SD40-2 Early HLCX 8171 SD40-2 Mid HLCX 6202 SD40-2 Early EMDX 6303
Hi there Sandro, I picked up a couple of the Kato AC4400 in the Blue and White colour scheme of CEFX. I like to run them with my CP AC4400s as I have seen quite a few of the 1:1 unit running around here. I have always wanted to custom paint some of the older units CEFX runs that are still in their original livery. Often I have seen SD-40s in 1:1 in UP colours that have their logos painted over along with the road number. Here is a link to a great site with road number details and pictures of the CEFX fleet. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locolist.aspx?id=CEFX&Page=1 Rob
I think that if I was in the market I would likely be interested in a 'patch' job of some sort. Since I'm still anti-UP maybe a heavily weathered patched X-UP something. I would also be interested in a fantasy line of some sort. Detailing? Because of my vision - not so much. I have to add that if I had a person of your caliber doing the paint job, ya, maybe I would ask for it to be super detailed. Again, I'm just speculating. I wish you the best.
I just recently had a SD60M that I redid as a lease. There is no prototype of this I'm sure, but I thought it would be fun anyhow.
Who doesn't love leasers? My bench is covered in them. Have you thought about doing any Cargill units? There are lots of grain elevator fans out there too... CRGX 570 Photo by Kent Rengo:
