Just like the CSX Heritage Units, I did awhile back, I have again tried to envision what BNSF heritage units could look like, if they were to do them. Here's what I have so far. (Original Blank SD70ACe Drawing by Michael Eby.)
I would probably makes these changes and add a couple Cb&Q Great northern Northern pacific Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Yes, I know, I just haven't got to them yet. When finished, I will have the following: BN: 2 Units ATSF: 6 Units Frisco: 2 Units SP&S: 1 Unit NP: 3 Units GN: 2 Units CB&Q: 1 Unit C&S: 1 Unit FW&D: 1 Unit
Essentially, what I have done is gone for the nine railroads but eighteen different paint schemes (simply because I could not decide). Thanks Jim, glad you like what I have so far. Here is what I like to call the "Santa Fe Overload". The sixth and final Santa Fe unit might be somewhat surprising.
That sure would be something! The First NP Unit (Freight Scheme as worn by the SD45s). And the Second And as it would turn out, I just figured out another NP and GN paint scheme, so that would make it 4 NPs and 3 GNs.
Ah. NP post/modified Canoe, and so-called "Butterknife". Even an older passenger scheme doesn't look bad at all!
Glad to see that you guys like them! The next NP unit. I also just realized that the trucks on the "Canoe" were the wrong color. So here is the fixed version.
The last one would have been even more heritage w/ the "whiskers" herald on nose vs "cigar band." And can't see BNSF doing the "Shouldn't Paint So Fast scheme as heritage. LOL
Seconded, but with the lighter yellow and red outlining of the yellow of the original cat's whisker scheme.
