Custom built for Gunnar Haeberer. Another addition to his great CR collection. The model shows an ex Lehigh & Hudson River unit patched with CR markings. Loco is shown in it's poor condition when CR took over the business. As the previous C420 complete metal etched shell, but this time with a AZL GP38-2 chassis.
I second that request. The difficulty of doing a job like this in Z scale is unfathomable to most modelers. Simply incredible.
Gerd, the locomotive looks very good! Also the AZL's gp38-2 is price wise an ideal locomotive for scratch building and kitbashing projects. Did you have to chop the chassis?
Very nice work. Fantastic. I love these, atleast for Z-scale, odd engines. Speaking about ALCO I saw an odd Rock Island engine built in N-scale, a RS-2M, a cross between ALCO RS-2 and EMD GP9. Maybe a project for you. http://www.spookshow.net/layout6i.html http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=657903
I just milled approx. 10mm off at the top bit of the chassis to accommodate the "short" hood + a bit on each end. The length of the chassis is quiet right. The tank of course was modified too
Correct John, all my other all-metal loco designs are similar, apart from the rolling stock of course.
