Hello fellow train lovers, My name is Frank and I've been around trains since I was 8 years old (1963), and collecting ho trains since before that. I now have over 4100 train cars and engines in my collection and not even a layout at this time ( I had to take it down to make room for my sister). I know that I will enjoy all the members wealth of knowledge and may be able to help some myself.
Frank- Welcome to TrainBoard! With an accumulation of that size, I hope you can get a layout started before too much more time passes...
Hello Fitz, Tell me what kind of car you would like me to take phone pictures of and I will post them. Right now they're all in boxes but everything is cataloged in note books and I just started putting them in a accel program, what a nightmare that's going to be but it may prove very useful for people to see and identify their train cars by road numbers and descriptions.
Well, you certainly won't have a problem putting together a couple of trains once you have some track! Glad you found us and good luck with the cataloging...
Hi Frank, Welcome on board. I'm amazed, you may have more rolling stock than a mid-sized 1:1 railroad company.
I have lots of those cars including some metal ones, probably early varney and globe. Needless to say I have a lot of Athearn as well.
Thank You, I do have a varied collection of cars and engines but one thing I have is a large collection of Tenshodo rolling stock and it's hard to even get any information about those cars. Most of my stuff is from the late 40's to the early 60's but I do have my share of intermountain, accurail,exactrail,tangent,atlas,etc......
man I'm a sick puppy, I just added 52 diesels to my collection, please pray for me and my addiction!!
If anyone would like to see something in particular let me know and I'll look, I have a lot of weathering to do in my future.
