I realised I have not been adding my purchases for the future layout to this topic. The first items acquired were some very good priced cabooses for rebuilding/detailing and painting for Andersley Western.
Got some new stuff. BLI SD9. Walthers Proto SD7 4 Athearn chemical cars. I wasn't going to get this until I got to see it in my LTS. It's a PC-90 Piggy Packer by Wheels of Time. 4 Atlas SP&S post war boxcars. A eBay rescue C-425. Not trilled by the dark pea green Atlas went with, but it is a old Kato built Atlas and nothing really beats these old gals. I got another Kato-Atlas C-424 too. Another member and I were discussing it, and yes, the BLI SD9 is not only lighter then the Walthers SD7, but it feels like the old Kato-Atlas C-425 weighs more too.
Some awesome stuff being purchased I am unable to purchase at the moment as I will be moving in three weeks
My latest purchases are two more Alcos. Another C425 and one of my favourites, an RSC3! And it is a Kato Both will be finished in Andersley Western black and gold
I also have a Union Pacific RSC3, which I got with the idea of modeling the UP Encampment Branch circa 1960s. I may add some details, and I had to paint the trucls silver, but for sentimental reasons (I grew up in Wyoming watching RSC3s switch out the sawmill in Saratoga) it's staying in UP livery. The model itself runs well, so you'll have a good locomotive.
Been awhile since I posted my Loco roster, so thought I'd better bring it up to date: Athearn Genesis GP40-2L w/DCC + Sound BLI Paragon 2 SD40-2 Intermountain ES44DC w/DCC + Sound
I really love CN locomotives, especially the stripes as this is how I saw them back in 1985. I could easily be tempted by a GP40-2W! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
They are really nice models I am so glad I switched from N scale to Ho scale with such availability of locomotives with DCC and sound
Don't fight the temptation - give in and become the proud owner of a GP40-2W; they're like Cadbury's Creme Eggs - once they're gone, they're gone! :cute:
It was the lack of CN locos in N that started me on the slippery slope of moving from N to HO. I'm also being more disciplined - the loco (ideally exactly Road # or close within 2 either side) has to have been seen in Nova Scotia and/or New Brunswick between 1995 - 2010. OK, confession time - the SD40-2 doesn't fit (or rather I haven't proved it one way or the other yet); it was too good a bargain to miss at a show in September
