I'm excited for you if that counts. I know how I was when Kato released Metra F40s. Kobo is sort of the "custom" division of Kato. They do some great limited run stuff. It will cost you more than usual, but totally worth it, like this item:

And when they're gone, they're gone.

I live over by the Main and see these all the time. I'm going to pass since every one in my club will have the sets.

Ya know, there's a part of me, being a Bay Area native, that would love to have a set. I remember back in the day when Southern Pacific ran the commuter service. SP Geeps and SDP45s pulling not only gallery cars, but Harrimans, too.

CalTrain is very modern for my layout, but I am seriously considering picking up this set! I just got the WoT commuters based on what John shows above, and running with my SD45.

I kind of wish I could order a smaller set, a loco, two coaches and a cabin car. Chuck's got the sets priced at $200 which would be a cool way to spend my tax return. lol

I just noticed that it's a five cars set and no loco. Hmmm... Can I trade two cars for a F40PH? lol

WPZephyrFan...I am sure you can find someone to trade you a F40PH for two of the cars. I was thinking that same thing when they released a five car set.

Dave, I might have to look into that. It's not that I can't afford it, it just seems like a waste for me to have the extra two cars. Of course, if I sell or trade the two extra cars, the set wouldn't be worth as much if I ever choose to sell the set. Not that I would. I've never sold a train that I've purchased! lol

I couldn't resist, even though I live in Sarasota, Florida now, after having lived in San Mateo Calif for 14 years and seeing
Caltrain so often, I had to order a set from Chuck at Feather River Trains, along with a Caltrain Kato F40PH.

I guess it's true, many of us, including me, model/acquire what we see at the train tracks.

Ordered my set from Chuck also. We talked about doing that Caltrain GP9....but it would be about $20K to do a special run. A custom run of decals would be alot cheaper.

awesome to see everyone supporting chuck!

yea that GP9 would be great and match the WoT cars perfectly.

I did get started on a current colors GP9 but never really finished it. not the most prototypical but a good stand in as a switcher. i wish someone would just make all the caltrains! although a mp36 would be dreamy. comon kato....sooooo clooooossseeee
