I am still waiting for the GP60M. When should they be delivered? Somebody heard anything about it???? Late 2011 its a long time over!!
A BNSF H3 painted sample of the GP60M and a ATSF sample of the GP60Bwere on display at Trainfest last week. From the photos they look like what we expect out of Matt. Excelence. I doubt that if they are at that point that it will take an additional 6 months to getthem I'm hoping for a Spring delivery. I've held back my intermodals at the Vaughn Show the last two years waiting for these to pull them. They are so appropriate for the Belen Cutoff. With a couple Dash8-40Bw's in the consist it will be like old home week.
Yeah, I still have my $ set aside for them...good thing I left it in cash and didnt' invest it in stocks or I wouldn't have enough to buy them any more . Here's a blast from the past and something to whet your whistle...a shot of the custom 60M's that Jerry D (OC Engineer) painted, they did a layout tour a few years back before making their way to their proud owner. I'm really looking forward to getting my FVM's!
When I ordered my IM Cab Forward from Chuck at Feather River, I asked about the FVM GP60's, and was told maybe by Christmas. Have 4 reserved myself!
I've got a NS Heritage unit reserved too, but the LHS doesn't know when to expect delivery. They were supposed to be out Spring '12
That would be a pretty quick turn around considering NS didn't finish all of the heritage units until June. FVM announced the first ones in April 12 with deliveries scheduled for 3rd/4th quarter of this year (first 4 schemes) with the remaining scheduled for early 13. Brian
Locomotives are on the way. Expected to start shipping by Sept 15. Contacted yesterday, out of curiosity, since I'm waiting on 4 Santa Fe units myself.
The note I recieved from Matt at FVM. Hi Keith, They are en route to me now and I expect to start shipping around Sep 15. Thanks. Best regards, Matt My guess, by the end of the month maybe.
Good news, but lousy way to communicate. This is another Swiss fellow who had been wondering. Looks like we finally get what we have been waiting for for so long. Nevertheless, I wonder why FVM is unable to communicate this to a more general readership than just to the individuals that "pester" them with questions. In the end, it takes at least as much time for them, but many more are doubting about the future of the company or their products. If nothing else, a quick post on their Facebook site would be easy enough. Much more efficient than those monthly announcements on a web page that has been in such a boringly backward state that I tend not to check it anymore.
Since they have been delivering other product regularly there are no legitimate doubts about FVM. I for one want these done correctly. We put on a charity show where these locos travelled with intermodal trains on a regular basis. I wanted to run them for the show in 2011 and 2012 but if they get to us in time I will be ecstatic to have them for this years show on 09/15 & 09/15. All manufacturers have had issues over the last 4-6 years. We are still waiting for products from DI that were announced more than 5 years ago. Some manufacturers have been able to overcome the obstacles more quickly than others. As long as it is correct I can take the wait. Now to get the CF7 & DL600's.
