I thought I might share this week also from my small album here on Trainboard. Here we have Disneyland Railroad 4-4-0 #1 C.K. Holliday and Disneyland Railroad 2-4-4T #3 Fred Gurley. These were taken sometime in July 2012 at New Orleans Square. -Chris
Former Augusta RR Vulcan "critter", hiding in the tall grass, Trolley Museum, Ft. Smith, AR "Butterscotch Twins", both ex-Penn Central GP38s, switching on DGNO, Sherman, TX. They're still in that (faded) color today!

CBBI28 passing Wilton Depot. 8/29/12 BICB28(left) on the main, passing CBBI28 at North Star. 8/29/12 BICB28 crossing the Cedar River in Moscow, IA. 8/29/12 BICB04 crosses the Iowa River at Iowa City. 9/5/12 BICB04 departs South Amana after a pickup of 13 hoppers. 9/5/12 BICB04 nearing Marengo, IA. 9/5/12 After a drop-off/pick-up at Marengo, BICB04 resumes its trip westbound. 9/5/12 BICB04 passing by Ladora, IA. Engine's #1 and #2, the CK Holliday and the E.P. Ripley are 5/8th scale engines built by the Disney Machine shops in 54 and 55. they are both 4-4-0s and have only cosmetic differences. #3, #4 and #5, the Fred Gurley, the Ernest S. Marsh and the Ward Kimball were all full scale narrow guage engines found in the weeds and restored. I think 3&4 were both found on Sugar plantations. 5 was in use at a different amusment park and I don't know it's prior history.
The Forney probably did not come off a Maine 2 Footer. I'm guessing maybe a sugar plantation loco? Lead truck added?
Hi Boxcab, The Disneyland Forney #3 Fred Gurley was originally built by Baldwin as an 0-4-4T in 1894/95. It was built for one of the Godchaux lines, the Belle Pointe and Reserve RR, as their #1. Later it was part of his conglomerate line the Mississippi Sugar Belt Railroad. Don't quote me on it, but I believe the plantation was in the area of Reserve, Louisiana. The railroad was actually pretty large and ran over multiple plantations. I've been trying to do a lot of research on the cane haulers recently, trying to get some info, and a look at the operations. I'm starting to think a Sugar Plantation layout may be in my future :happy: Here's two pictures of the Gurley when it was owned by Godchaux. -Chris
The #5...known in Disneyland as the Ward Kimball, did previously come from the Cedar Point amusement park. Prior to that, it was also a Sugar Plantation locomotive in Alma, Louisiana on the Barker & LePine plantation. The #4 on the other hand, the Ernest S. Marsh, came from Raritan River Sand in New Jersey. -Chris
