I tried three different times to read a PM from eagle2 and Google kept warning me of possible malware. I attempted to read the PM via the pop up upon entering the site and also clicking on notifications then the PM. Any thoughts?
This is a new one for me. Not sure how it could happen. Anti-malware programs can produce false positives.
Hmmm, I could not say one way or the other, but it came or was detected on the last "thank you" for my contribution.
I just attempted to read the last three from eagle2 for the "thank you" message and they all now do the same thing. I could read them before. Hopefully it is only a false alarm, but I won't be opening them.
Attachments are not allowed in private messages, so my first thought would be that this is not possible but I will think more about what could cause such a thing. Sent from my Motorola Electrify using Tapatalk 2
I'm wondering if the Signature block of the Sender / Receivers has a Link / Image in it that might have triggered the alert "OR" the Malware was already on the PC and something in the PM got it activated / detected...
Not having any other reports of such troubles, this would seem to be isolated. I would think what Darren suggests might be an interesting possibility.
Considering that I PM with Mike frequently and have never seen such a thing, I am sure it's a false hit. Sent from my Motorola Electrify using Tapatalk 2
Geez, I hope it's a false positive. As far as I can tell, my anti-virus is up to date and working fine (it keeps telling me about what it's blocked) but I am definately not an IT type. The link (to MoPac Historical Society) possibility mentioned is concerning, though.
Issue Found? Mike, I click into your site and did get a nasty warning... See this link for what is being said about your site right now at Google... http://safebrowsing.clients.google....lient=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://mopac.org/
FYI, I actually had the same warning come up when I clicked on this thread to view it. I clicked on the google warning to view anyway so I could pass this along.
Still nothing here. There may not actually be anything wrong. Just the Google report, of a past alleged problem.
Argh!!! Its like there's something that's just not right about my car and the problem refuses to show itself to anyone else.
I just clicked thru the link to the MoPac Historical site and received no warnings. I am using Firefox as a browser and Norton software for anti-everything protection. Have you checked your PC to make sure that it is not infected with the DNSChanger malware that is set to launch itself on July 9? Also have your virus definitions been updated recently?
Darren, thanks for the link. Sounds like something fishy happened, but seems to my reading not to be a threat, which is quite a relief. I soooo wish I could...talk...with some of these geniuses who invent the infections for the web...
Just sat down after a day of work and read about the DNSChanger. I use Google Chrome and have Trend Micro for protection. Will run an update and see if anything comes through. Thank You
Not getting the warning message tonight so it looks like you got a clean bill of heath on a scan since...
