Yes it was a great week. Tomorrow it ends for me when I go back to work for one day then off Sunday. Although there is two more excursions to go, I decided to not chase those. They will run an excursion from Cedar Rapids up to Waterloo on the ex Rock Island, now leased by the Iowa Northern, on Saturday. Then the other half of the excursion will run on Sunday with a Waterloo/Cedar Falls to Manly trip, also on ex Rock Island trackage. Monday the Amtrak Excursion will close out the NRHS with the return trip to Chicago. I did manage to grab some freebie issues of Railfan and Railroad June Issue and the Railpace Newsmagazine. The NRHS will have a DVD coming out in the Fall about this years convention.
Buddy, you did a super job covering the various excursions at the convention. I had heard some negative comments from NRHS members PRIOR to the convention, but judging from your photos, no one who attended should be disappointed in the variety of the excursions and the motive power. Wish I could have been there. :crying:
Wish I could go to Alaska next year for the 2013 convention. And make it a vacation. Anyone have an arm, leg, torso or any other body part they would like to sell? :startled:
