i hope ya'll wont crucify me for posting this one here i know it has bnsf battery box lettering but i thought it would look good here as this is a white face BN gp50 with the bold long hood BN letterinng left over from its tiger stripe days this last pic o tried to hide the bnsf lettering to make it look like it should
. okay Karl now that's just unreal what are the odds that we would catch sister units both still in the white face and green and about 1700 miles apart on the same day nice catch
. Ike it went thru last night about 6:45pm EastBound if it didn't stop at wenatchee or spokane i have no idea where that unit is but it was but a garbage so to speak drag so it most likely got out of the way of everything else goodluck hunting
What are the odds that we both had our cameras with us. Usually I only see units like this when the camera is sitting at home!
. you and me both i thought i was going to have to race 16 miles home then hope i could catch it before it got to dark then i remembered the wife told me she put the camera in the Jeep thank god for having her to think ahead allowed me to get some decent shots
Lucky fellow. Intuition? Probably not many railfans have had their other half hit that situation just right.
I'll second that, on both accounts. I'm glad I shot what I did, when I did. Even with archaic 2 and 3MP digitals....
Ah, rule one followed. Camera in the Jeep. Each year I take the trip to Galesburg and each year I see less and less of the Cascade green. Here is a shot I took on one of my favorite railfan haunts, Oregon IL, Good Friday 2006. Lead is an SD40-2, followed by a SD60M. The C&I was a great haunt for SD40-2's.
I found another one, in Omaha again (I'm glad I checked the yard again before I left). The first GP50 I found was BNSF 3121, this morning I found BNSF GP50 3111. Lightning strikes again! I'm going to have to get back to the extended cab GP50.
