When I was about 15 my mom went all out and bought me a minitrix 2-10-0. It's sort of a cobbled together model with a American boiler sitting atop a German proto mechanism. the pistons sit wrong under the boiler too. But it's a big steamer and back in the day it was my best runner. I think I even put Mt's on the tender when I was a kid. My mother has passed away and now I look at it and think fondly of her and how she tried so hard to do nice things for me. I guess back then I didn't make the connection. I even felt guilty after she passed away that I hadn't shown her enough love in return. With my daughter now I realize that it's ok, I do the same for my daughter and she often doesn't realize how much I care for her. It all works out in the end. Ok, sorry about the rambling. Gee this is an old thread. I wonder if I already posted here years ago. LOL
Don't worry Hemi - they will show up at the front of a bright red CP unit train of Beth Gons or maybe nice blue grain hoppers or ... I have to do some real basic wiring. The hard part will be the building a control panel. I need to design something I can build with manual tools but will look good since it will be in the living room.
Your layout has progressed nicely over the past couple months.. I hated wiring. I ran into a few major gremlins while converting my layout from 0-5-0 to electricity....
You have a much larger layout though I have to admit I do not expect any issues except the physical work involved. I mean the actual manipulation of the wires.
