What was cool also was that the commuter power always made trips on freight trains to Roseville and back on weekends, so you would see them shiny units on the front of freights. Cool for modeling too!
Brass in front, Atlas in back. Atlas has better looking grills, better louver detailing more accurate for an SP unit, better walkway tread, wrong horn...easy fix.
Brass left, Atlas right.... Better truck detailing on the Atlas. Looks like I know my next brass unit to sell on EBay! LOL
Dang, Jerry, you've nailed this scene! Very nice! I had a chance to see the Trainmasters in commute service at Third and Townsend in 1970 and thought they were ugly beasts at the time. They look beautiful now.... regards, Otto
