Nice progress! Allen I think there was a good Model Railroader article on this line in the late 70's early 80's maybe.

    Thanks TJ,
I don't remember seeing an article about "modeling" this line, but that would be a cool find. If you happen to run across it please let me know.
    The one that got me going was the article in Railfan & Railroad, May of 1982;

I've got a static grass tool on the way and once the wedding and remodeling is out of the way, I plan to turn things green and get some buildings going.

Well, I goofed. One is just a single order. Thought they were both sets.

Anyhow, the single was copied at Bernice. The set is from El Dorado and came from, (named in that article), A.J. Shirey.

I can probably scan these in the next day or two. Put them on a page at my web site. Drop me a PM if I forget...

    Allen

I just looked at this whole thread and have to say, I am very impressed by it. I like how you show the room's progress as well. That black sticky stuff on the floor is quite troublesome, our basement had it left over, but our tile guy got it done in two afternoons last week or so. I'm not sure how he did it, I think he used a spray and scraped it off. Mazel Tov on the upcoming wedding

    Thanks Ben.
Yeah I was never so glad when that mastic got covered up with something that would keep it covered up. It was a real thorn in my side, especially when I had guests over.

I was told that I could use a solvent several times then scrape or wipe it up, yuck. I have windows in the basement, but the stench and the fact that at the time I still had a gas furnace and water heater bothered me.

I FOUND IT!!! I didn't forget, just took a bit to find!

It was in Model Railroad Craftsman mag from Feb 1978. This is on Ruston, La. It's a 2 part article and I don't have the first part. But now I'm gonna have find the other issue at swap meet!

Sweet! So you have this article, or at least the 1st half?
Anyway you could scan it and email it?

Is it Model Railroad Craftsman or Railroad Model Craftsman?

So the first part was January of 1978? I ask as sometimes multi-parters were not always in consecutive issues. I should have both, downstairs somewhere.

Well I'm hoping that's not gonna be the case...LOL
She's a pretty good kid and seeing how we've been together for 10+ years before pulling the trigger, I'm thinking we've got each other figured out by now!

Either way, thanks for the wishes.
