Lovely scenes, Candy. However, you now have dated your efforts to later than September 23, 1958 when Ford released '59 models to showrooms, including cab fleet sales.

    Merry Christmas, everyone.

    "Going Home for the Holidays"

Oblivious to the silently drifting sleek monster bearing down on her, and about to cast its shadow over her, a young girl is absorbed with the poster on the wall of the depot.

Here are the final two Exact Rail 4427 CF Covered Hoppers that I have completed.

Since I had the decal from Herald King I had to do another Anderson's Covered Hopper to add to my collection. I used to see these cars going from the elevator in Maumee to the Elevator on the Maumee River in Toledo as they rolled past our house.

While looking through Oddballs Decal List, I found this decal for a early PS 4427 Covered Hopper and since l like the Burlington Scheme I did this car.

    Thanks for looking!

Nice work everyone - and Merry Christmas!

Funny, I was more absorbed with the excellent track work, ballasting, scenery,... Oh, there was a train? :tb-wink:

    Nice shot!

The cap off a monumental year of non-modeling, no layout progress to speak of, and hardly any train running, I put this video together. I probably spent more time cleaning track than shooting it...

One of my projects this week was to paint some flawed castings I got from Stoney Mountain Classic. The first part are some assorted old cars that will spread out over the back half of the layout and the second part is a junkyard scene that will also be on the back half of the layout, so little details aren't a requirement. The paint used is flat and satin latex house paints. Since they are latex they have a problem sticking to resin so it's necessary to spray on a thin coat of gray primer or Clear Flat first.

The first part, the old car bodies ranging from 1937 to 1951.

    That's all for now.

Amazing week of photos, starting with a great opener greeting card. Bruce-in-MA, your video is great. Excellent scenery and I particularly like the abandoned sidings and building.

My shot this week may look familiar from my "Christmas Card" post of a few days ago, since it's the same location and locomotive, but this time the lights are on. The loco is a project I finished a few weeks ago. It's a repaint of an IHC Mehano Mountain. I tried for a somewhat weathered look, not the "Please wash me before I croak" appearance. The paint on the drivers and truck wheels to cover the massive silver tires really helps hide the giant flanges on these IHC models. But I need to try some other brand of gloss and dull finish. I just can't seem to fully hide the decal when viewed from an angle.

The lake in the center is still not finished (cated in blue painter's tape), and trees have yet to go in, but it's mostly done.
Big pistol? It used to be able to house a .44 magnum! The railroad is removable for construction/maintenance, and mounts into the case with screws.
