Any word on when we might see these? I'm Soo looking forward to getting my hands on some for my Line. ~Paul E. PS - I've been real good this year so any chance Santa might be able to deliver?
SP AZL and Rogue GP38-2 A quick look at was is coming next year. Happy New Year from AZL! Think you all will like the modifications we have done to the locomotive
Hans when are these expected out? Any word on the steamers and heavy weights? Thanks for the pciture.
Rob, For the unenlightened, (me) can you explain what we are looking at? Maybe the old, original on the left and the upcoming release on the right? I'll be glad when these come out because now I can repaint a couple of them to represent the CORP locomotives we used to have around Medford. Finally, something that is representative of the locos we have here, or had until CORP did their thing and closed down much of their line. Oh well, I'll be modeling a slightly older era anyway........90s and mid 2008 or so.
Loren. the other way around, look at the trucks and the tank and the finer railing. Hans, nothing done to the shell I guess? Do me a favour and don't relaese the loco with this much too large speed lettering. Looks and is just wrong, look here
Gerd, You are so right. Guess I am way past needing new glasses. I should have looked more closely before I spoke. Hope they come out sooner than later.
We will change the SP logo. Thanks for spotting it! Hard to tell exactly when we will have the 38´s, but early March could happen. SP and BN will be first as a tribute to Don Bouchard. More on that later.
Is it an optical illusion, or the new sample seems a little bit longer than old Rogue model? Is there any current background noise indicating the line would sadly close in a foreseable future? Dom
Hi Dom, The shell was re-worked a bit, but it's the same basic tooling. The motor, gears, trucks, electrical are all from the GP30. The split frame was lengthened to the correct dimensions for the GP38-2, and the fuel tank is a part of the split frame metal, so the model has more weight for better traction. Best, Rob
Hello Rob, It's my first post on the forum for wish Happy new year 2012 for all Member, just question about road num available have you previous num 4800 and more for the GP38-2. thanks Eric
Dom, I am not up to date on the info regarding CORP. I know that they are not running through Medford down into California any more. Someone else will probably run the line.
Hi Eric, Welcome to TrainBoard and Happy 2012! We will have 4 different road numbers for each railroad of GP38-2. I do not know much about the old Rouge GP38-2 production. Hans is the expert on that subject since Rouge was before the time we created the AZL partnership. Best, -Rob(A) AZL
Hi Eric, Welcome and a happy 2012! Since AZL has the longer frame now, hopefully the GP38-2 will be followed eventually by a D&RGW GP40-2...
Frank Thanks Yes I hope one day, see a GP40-2 DRGW But you can mix SPGP38-2 with DRGW GP30 on a layout it"s a good choice also.
Good! As I'm rather happy with my GP30 (I'll be completely when I have swapped its couplers with MTL's) I guess the roster's backbone of my future mexican layout will mostly consist of these GP38s! If you have any plan for future undecs, I'll vote for!:mwink: Welcome here, my fellow countryman, and happy new year! So for the time beeing there is no more rail traffic into Medford? Sad indeed. I definitly hope that someone will recover its traffic rights.... Hey Frank! If you simply add a third fan just ahead of the two existing samples I guess you'll have a decent looking GP40-2!:mwink: Dom
