Joe, The Z-Panzer line really is something, I have the full Panzerzug set in addition to this K5 and really, the photos don't do them justice. They make a line of tanks and vehicles I think I'm going to have to get as well! John www.ztrains.com

The K5 is an amazing model in Z scale. Andy Hart, of Z-Panzer, is working on the support cars and items used to complete this railgun. One of these days I will need to get one of these K5's from him, but right now I am patiently waiting for that package from Andy that has a full blown BP42 armored train in it with a variety of WWII vehicles!!!! Also, he is working on making the rail vehicle that will allow a person who has one of his BP42 armored trains to make it a BP44 version. Nothing more than replacing the end material flats and adding a car that is equipped with a turrent. Can't wait for that one to be released. Hobo Tim
I got a load of M48s and M113s off Andy at last years Zedex and they are exquisite. I'm think I've persuaded him to do the GMC 6x6 truck in the future to use as a load on the military train on 'Cuyahoga' However check this stunning etched Tiger tank out! http://www.z-panzer.com/ awesome! KEV

Recently I asked Andy what he had in store for future vehicles and this is what he said! As for new WW II models, I have planned; 7 car set to compliment the K5 railgun (ammunition cars etc) GMC 6x6 (Q4) US 155mm gun (Q4) Panzerjaegerwagen + BP44 turret (2012) for the armored train Panzer IV H (2012) Karl Morser + rail car transporter!!! (2012) Panther (2012) I also asked if he had thought about making the kubelwagen or the sdkfz251 halftrack and this is what he said; "Not had a request for a kubelwagen yet – would be fiddly but not impossible. I have considered a 251 or 250, the sdkfz9 is huge and relatively rare, maybe a 251 would have been a better 1st model choice for me. At least I’ve proved the half-track concept." I do not know if everyone who reads this knows that the BP42 and BP44 were used on the Eastern Front not on the Western Front. If anyone is curious about trains used during the war you can rent the DVD called "War Trains" from Netflix. Sorry it is only available in DVD format and not viewable from the internet. Had several movie clips of big rail guns in it!!! Very interesting bit of history. Looks like the US had the monster railguns during the first world war. Anyways, lots of good info on trains from the war! Hobo Tim
The railgun looks great. When I was about 13, I dragged my parents to Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland just to see their K5 (Anzio Annie). (Of course, we had to stop at the B&O museum while we were in the area. ) Dan S.
Andy's work is very, very, very good. Amazing details, better than a lot of HO military models I have had. If you are doing DB rail, these are great loads as the US Army used rail a LOT. I rate all his models a 10 out of 10 stars.
They recently moved the museum and railgun from APG to Ft Lee. Not sure how much is on display yet. Randy
I hadn't heard that. Learn something new every day. Sort of sad, in a way. A lot of the WWII German armor had a history at APG, since it was sent there during the war to test anti-tank rounds. Dan S.
