Oh awesome! I glanced out to the right and saw the nearly full moon rising!Here's the shot from my iPhone, and I took several more with my Canon T2i. I can't wait until sunset!
Ok. Damn! I hate to say this, but breathing has now become unbearable! Somebody needs to put their shoes back on!

Now leaving Winnemucca, about an hour and 40 minutes late. Conductor says we should be able to make up the time before SLC.
What side of the tracks will you be on, and near what intersection? I'm on the 4th car back, just before the lounge car. I'll go down to the vestibule and stand in the window and give a wave.
If I get there in time I will be on the left side in a parking lot about one block west of the depot. Ben

I appreciate that! It's hard to get good light on from the train, and even harder to access on foot. Thanks for your efforts! They are used to construct my model version of the same. It still needs some work yet....
Apparently everyone woke up to pee at the same time. 3:45am and there's a line for the restroom! Now entering the greater SLC area, about an hour or so late.
Well we hit a slow patch again. We just passed a westbound passenger train. If it was the 5 train, whoa are they late! Getting back up to speed now. Actually I can really hear the prime mover reving to full power all the way back here!! Maybe it's just my proximity to the end doors. I always did get the sense that the green lights through the SLC area were the fastest bits of rail of the entire trip. The view of the sky is great. Before we entered SLC light pollution I could easily make out the summer triangle, big dipper and cassiopia through the window. The near full moon is big bright and golden!
