Ask and ye shall receive.... I am thinking about doing these in 10-20 packs. They will measure approx. 1 scale foot tall and 1.5 scale feet at the base. There won't be much room for a lightbulb unless you can get some tiny LEDs, but I am going to see if I can make them all clear anyway. Or they can always be drilled out with a pin vice and a tiny bit. I will have to see what I can get away with. Shapeways has a few manufacturing limitations that I am trying to work around, but so far I haven't had any designs turned back so i take that as a good sign!
I didn't like the way that light looks so I redesigned it and it looks a LOT better now. It's amazing what a little sleep will do! :tb-biggrin:
It looks good but I think the yellow 'beacon' part looks too tall. Maybe lower it a bit. (I can even get a mesurement on one tomorrow at work if you want. )
Yes definitely!! Right now I have only approximate dimensions to go off of and if you can provide pics and measurements I can make this to those specs.
I am still looking for decent pics of the SP light package. If anyone out there has good reference Photos of the SP 3 light nose package let us know. Thanks John

There is a place in Boulder CO that specialise in mini LED lights, the name escapes me but if you Google LED lights Boulder CO you should find them. They sell lights that run on battery power or AC power. Not sure if these will work to opperational but its worth to check out. They even have lights that flash or stay on with no flash. These lights are a good idea, but would be better if they worked. I bought sone of these flashing LED in yellow for a road way caution sighn, they are awesome & bright. They have a small nipple (if you will) that can be poked thru a small hole you can drill in the loco shell on top. Here is the name of the place & contact Info. I will get the measurements tomorrow. Shop was closed by the time I got into the yard tonight so I couldnt get a tape measure on it. Will bring one tomorrow.
Just for fun... I am guessing a 18 inch diameter base. Base is ummmmm...4 inches tall. Beacon lens is ummmmm...6 inches tall. :tb-nerd: Yes...there is nothing good on TV...I am bored...sue me...LOL :tb-biggrin: . .
George, you will be hearing from my atty......:tb-biggrin: In all seriousness, if that's the case I can just lower the dome on my light by about 3-4 scale inches I should be good. I will play with it tonight and see what I can come up with. ***********WARNING ABOUT SHAPEWAYS************* THEY DO HAVE A $25 MINIMUM ORDER, BUT THE FLIP SIDE OF IT IS ORDERS OF $25 AND UP GETS FREE SHIPPING. SO IF A LOT OF YOU GUYS WANT THESE IT WOULD BE BEST TO WAIT UNTIL I GET MORE ITEMS POSTED, GO IN ON A LARGE ORDER AS A GROUP, OR BY ALL MEANS PLEASE CHECK OUT THE OTHER VENDORS ON THE SITE. THERE IS A LOT OF GOOD N SCALE STUFF AVAILABLE ON THERE!! :tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin:
Ok, so I shortened it a bit and if this looks good I will process it and see if it will pass their minimum standards test!
Can you make the bottom base smaller? It looks too much like a big pancake....LOL. Looking at the real photo, the base and the lens holder are almost the same size.
Sure. I will scrap this one and try a different method for doing this. I have class most of the day tomorrow, so I probably won't be able to spend more than a few minutes on this until Wednesday, but I will be sure to post some pics as soon as I can. I will do more with the pics you gave me and see what I can do to make them similar.
Got the measurements.... 10" across the top, Base is 3 1/2"tall and thats not including the three legs, and the amber globe is 5" tall from the base.
Great stuff going on here. I have to agree missing detail parts are the way to go!! I will be following along.
