Last year I built a 7'x 16' American Flyer Layout and documented it on my Blog. Since I finished it, I've taken it to two train shows. Now I am building a new layout. You can find more information about it and much more on my blog at:

Really glad to see a layout in S scale. I still have my American Flyers when I was 5. I switched to N scale because of space....nice layout. Do you have any videos of it running...I didn't see any on your blog.

Nice. I see a 302AC. Had one of those in my childhood accumulation of Lionel and AF.

I posted one of my old layout back in December:

Brian's American Flyer Trains: Train Ride

I also got interviewed by Model Railroad TV and you can see some of my trains running there.

Oh how I wish I could be there and see this in person. To hear the sounds, smell the ozone again. What memories!

    Foam

I now have the layout covered with foam and with the accessories and track in place. I'll have some videos of this layout once I get it running.

That's a bit of innovation- First time I can recall that anyone would use oyster shell for ballast. I fed enough of that, (calcium supplement to avoid thin shells), to chickens on the farm as a boy. Never thought of it as ballast for my Lionel. I did steal some of the grit though. Looked good to me when done!
