What are you saying? Are you saying you like this logo or you want a Maxi IV with this logo or that I will be using this logo exclusively? TTX might be looking forward but I think this new logo sets them back!!! I have no plans to use this logo. An ALPS can print it, but...... I have not seen any Maxi IV's with this logo, yet, is the reason I ask!!! Hobo Tim
Maxi IV Decaling. I would be happy with any logo you decide to slap on these beauties, hehe It was just out of curiosity. I personally like the newer TTX logo, maybe not necessarily on an entire set of Maxi IV's, maybe one out of three, because I have never seen one in person either other then on their company site images, but I know they're out there rolling around somewhere!? http://www.ttx.com/Equipment/listingtype/intermodal.aspx I wouldn't mind however sending you a couple of my MTL TTX individual well cars to paint and logo in the newer scheme. Everything look's great so far, especially the detail! Wishing you calm winds & light breeze's...
Update! I have finished the artwork for the Maxi IV in TTX (non-modern) version. Waiting for Monday when I can print it off on paper to insure all fonts are as close as possible to original. in other words, 220 times smaller than REAL!!! Here is a diagram of what I have created for one side of all three cars. Comments?? Will start working on the two versions of the BNSF and the BRAN/Pacer Stacktrain as soon as these are off to the decal guru for printing!! Hobo Tim
Very nice!!!! I will take one as well as one of each of the Pacer and BNSF versions please! :tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin:
Paint!! That graphic illustration is the many microscopic decals as if they were placed onto a yellow painted well car body!!! Thru the yellow in there so people could get the overall look and feel!!! Hobo Tim
This is not quite "Trains", but... Live Ships Map - AIS - Vessel Traffic and Positions After you unload all those Maxi's, you can follow the ships around the world. There are about 30,000 ships in the data base at any given time. You can get speed, track, destination, ETA plus a lot more info. Look around the Panama Canal and the place looks like an Interstate at rush hour. ...don a
Wow!!!! There's no keeping a good man down!!! Done beat me to the punch!!!! Those wellcars look fabulous!!!! I can hardly wait till I have all components in my hand so I can start building them. My wife is supposed to mail them to me this week. Looks like there will be at least three sets of these Maxi IV's at this years NTS!!!! Gonna be a sight to see! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hien, we'll have to intermix these with AZL 53' NSC wellcars for a near prototypical Intermodal consist!!!! Gotta get photos of that!!!! Movies too!!!! Thanks for posting the photos!!!! Hobo Tim :tb-biggrin:
Tim, I do believe that you are my new favorite person!!! Those cars look fantastic and when you get some made I definitely want a few sets! Keep us posted!
Now that is what I am talking about!!!! 53' containers for 53' carriers!!!!! Post photos!!!!! Hobo Tim
Proper Thanks! Thanks goes to you Robert for providing the finishing touch!!! If it weren't for your contribution, this project would still be on the back burner. THANKS!!!! Hobo Tim
Decals in Place! I got my decals in the mail and put a set on tonight. Here is the end result before applying the clear dull coat. Tomorrow I will coat them and glue the end walkways on, then attach the trucks/coupler-trucks. Hobo Tim
Dang, just when I thought I had enough well cars . . . Guess I should get some considering I have more than a hundred containers . . . See you in Vegas, er, Sacramento ! .
Maxi IV Update Finished Believe it or not, this project was started more than a year ago and finally, it is complete. I wish I had a better way to photograph this Maxi IV. Here are a few of what I did take. Notice the amount of detail around the brake wheel and air tank.
The Cars There you have it!!! By the way, the wife finally shipped the Maxi IV nickelsilver etchings on Saturday. I should get them tomorrow at work. I am contemplating doing the kits like FR did his Maxi III's, precut and bent. All you have to do is fit and solder the pieces together. Soon after 2011 NTS, I will take one fret of Maxi IV's and do a photo build where I will post it here on Trainboard and also in a .pdf on the Z Central Station. Stay tuned for more updates and info!!! p.s. This Maxi IV set will accompany me to the 2011 NTS this coming weekend!! See you there!!! Ugh!! Just found out this morning, Tuesday, the only package she didn't mail on Saturday was the nickelsilver etchings, but said she'd send them today!!! Sometimes I just on't know about that woman!!!
