Must have passed as I just caught it heading out of town by the ballpark. outtakes and more images http://s46.photobucket.com/albums/f123/river_eagle/HO-Scale/TBX_2011/
A buddy sent me a couple of pics from Colorado asking if I knew anything about any special moves thru the mountains.
Arrives in Colorado Hey, remember that wild load I found in TBX#3401, I went back to that same spot Friday and found another crazy car sitting in the same spot. Took a couple of shots while "they" were messing with it and then got the heck out of there before someone took my camera away from me!!! Why do I keep hearing clicking sounds in my phone? -
Denver UNION Station What luck, yesterday I was down at Denver UNION Station and found not only one but two TBX Cars sitting on the platform!!!!!!! -
I seldom check the modeling forums, but this is great. Who came up with the Watash coach? We need to tell Wayne's widow about this and get her a photo of the car. A very nice tribute. :tb-biggrin:
Jim, I went back to UNION Station to see if I could get a better shot but it was gone Lucky I heard that it was now up new Rocky Flats so I took a spin back to that same location and got a couple of shots before it departed for destination unknown... -
Brilliant! I wonder if they'll use the cannon to help some of the demolition needs for clearing out the old to make ready for the new.
Umm, we have ENOUGH problems with preservation Mark, let's not go and give them something more fun than the Wrecking Ball they already have...
Mine actually, which is only humorous because I never spoke to the man but maybe once. I signed up, dissappeared, and then came back shortly after he passed. But I wanted to do a TBX Business car, cause I like 'em, and it's immediately clear how much the man met to the forums, so I hoped I could do him right. I tossed "Watash" in as an escort car, kinda thinking if someone wasn't so fond of the cannon they could pull the Business car off and do a side story. There will be improvements don to that car when it gets back home too. Like, an interior.
I took the liberty of sending (Darren's) photo to Jan Wilson. She was very appreciative and wishes to thank ALL of you for naming the car for Watash. She said she misses him very much. My thanks to River_Eagle, Flashwave, and Stourbridge Lion (with apologies for not asking your permission). I am sure that they had a very special relationship in their marriage. I still miss Wayne. :tb-sad:
No problem here Jim as Wayne was a special person that I am glad I had the privilege to know. The two cars are still on tour so other photos will be posted in the future as well. R.I.P Wayne :tb-sad: :tb-sad: :tb-sad: :tb-sad:
I hear rumors of these cars heading towards the west coast, can anyone confirm this? :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin:
I cant confirm anything at the moment, but just herd four TREMENDOUS sonic booms roll across Thunder Ridge! I turned on the scanner and chatter is going crazy. The only thing I could really make out was "TBX" and "anomaly". Things are getting pretty exciting in the town of McKibben. There's a looming shadow of uncertainty right now... but I'll keep everyone posted.
Well it sounds like the boys on board the freight through the river valley jumped to conclusions. Apparently hauling a giant canon at the back of your train can give you the jumpies! The 4 sonic booms were caused by four fighter jets that strayed a little to far Northeast of their training site in New Mexico. I guess they pushed the envelope a little too far screaming over Thunder Ridge in their attempt to get back home in a hurry, which caused the sonic booms. Nonetheless, I was able to catch the canon as it ran through McKibben! How about some photos! The head end power passes the steam excursion resting at the station. Gotta love that BN green!
And here's the back end power. Hey, that gondola looks familiar!! Wait a second... what scale is this?
Them darn flyboys causing havoc. Thats why I went into the Marines and then Army! I am kidding of course. Hey....is that a TBX GON as well?
Considering what that car has been hauling on its own tour, shouldn't it be BEHIND the Watash? Just sayin'..................... :rolleyes2::wink2::laugh:
