I'm going down I69 outside of Fort Wayne Indiana and decided to look at some of my stuff in Railimages. Did I mention the wife is driving? Anyway, I'm looking through my n scale pix and noticed it shows how many hits each picture gets. I was really suprised to see how many hits I was getting. Thanks to everyone who visits my Railimages stuff. But of all the images in the N scale section I was shocked that one image above all others got far more hits than any of the others. http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showphoto.php/photo/110353/title/coupler3/cat/1808 There it is. Comments??
That is an N scale coupler on an old N scale AHM/Lima coach. Lima had those on HO scale cars and replicated it down to N scale size. They are made of some sort of metal. Here is the N scale Lima coach they came on. They later put Rapido couplers on the same coach. Even though they say Chesapeake & Ohio the C&O never had anything closely resembling these. They are of Eouropean design.
Before our British members jump in, it's a British Railways Mark 1 coach. The photo has 807 views now, not sure if that includes mine. Maybe people were looking at it to remind themselves how lucky we were to get Micro-Trains couplers.
It's possible someone has seen your photo in RI, and has it linked to a discussion ongoing somewhere..... Boxcab E50
What some people won't do for a little self-promotion............... (just kidding- don't hit me- it's a nice pic of N scale's Stone Age).
I've never thought of it that way. But now that you present the perspective, it really does fit. Hmmm..... Boxcab E50
In addition to someone linking to a photo from another website, I've seen some inflated numbers for pages that search engines find and track. The bots seem to keep visiting the same page periodically (daily or weekly). Here's an example: ShastaRails || And yet, all of the other photos of UP 3985 have a significantly lower number of views: ShastaRails || Photos by Road Number
I think it is the "What the heck is that factor" or the trainwreck you can't turn away from. 997 by the way. Andy
