WOW! - Thanks! I'm speechless with true, (in all 3 meanings of the word "appreciation" for all of the responses.

Thanks! I wish you were here as well. Do you need any of the Kato track? PM or email me.

Tracy McKibben - Thanks, I'll do a check for folks who do errands. Great idea!

Richard320 - Thanks for the idea. It could work but is dicey as to who would be there on any given day. Still - I'll check when I'm there.

fatalxsunrider43 - Thanks, that is a possible based on subsequent posts.

Metro Red Line - How should I dress the dolly? :) er, I mean, I don't have one of the type you mention, um, I don't have either type. :) Still, I had thought about building a contraption with wheels to do just that.

PF2488 - thanks! - um, ya, that would be quite the excursion. Thanks for the thought.

It would be my pleasure to buy the lunch. There is a great family place in Roslindale square.

    Tim Loutzenhiser -
It would be six (6) sheets and coincidentally I was thinking about 1x4s.
    Thanks for the heads up.

CNW 1518 - Thanks! for your thoughts.

SleeperN06 - "Plastic Plywood Carrier" - um, sounds great! Would that work for foam?

Ya, thanks, that is almost exactly what I had in mind 'cept with duct tape.

meledward23 - No worries about the wind. I think with the duct tape I should be ok.

fatalxsunrider43 - You are quite correct about a church community. I do not belong to / with one. Thanks though, it is a valid idea.

    Harron -
    .
Thank you! Medford to Dedham to Rosi is quite the haul. I'll be in touch. Can you use any Unitrak or freight cars?

    mark.hinds - thanks for the input. That's a likely.

johnh - It's a possible. I'll see what comes up. I really like "Craig's List".

OC Engineer JD - Thanks for the thought. One never knows.

I woul offer but I was thrown out of Boston years ago. It had something to do with my attire at Fenway Park, to wit: the NY Yankees logo on my cap.

I would wait till someone could take you. The day I bought mine at HD. The wife was carrying the foam for me while I put the change back into my wallet. As we walked out the door a nice gust of wind came along and caused the foam to slam into the ground and ruffed up one of the edges. If a stronger gust of wind had came I am sure it would have knocked her down. Not good if you are gonna walk along on a sidewalk and get blown into traffic. Also check some small local delivery companies. You should be able to get it delivered a lot cheaper than $65.00.

Craigslist is great, usually somebody offering hauling services... look under "community" and "rideshare" - or even post a free ad yourself and ask for a ride from someone with a pickup.

Or, tape them together, mount to a skateboard, and WINDSAIL them home :pconfused:

I will second this suggestion. If you cut each one in two, you'll have a bundle that is 2' x 4' x 12", weighing only a couple of pounds. I can't imagine that your bus driver would hesitate to let you back on the bus with that for the return trip.

I'll be passing through Boston in a week or two. I'll be driving a motor home, so 4x4 pieces would fit but alas 4x8 would not. If you're still atuck, I'd be delighted to help- and to finally meet you!

Thanks for all of the warnings, advice and offers. Someone has offered to pick it up and deliver it for me. I'll let you know how it goes.
