Imperial Hobby Productions had also produced a few resin shells made to fit the Bachmann PCC to improve it's overall appearance, but their website is undergoing renos. I really like the photos of finished T-trak modules. I haven't commented recently, but I've been dreaming about T-trak modules again the past couple days. I'm actually really starting to appreciate the potential of these modules as portable photo dioramas also.

Hi guys. The Olde Newburgh Model Railroad Club of Walden, Orange County, NY has begun construction of a T-Trak modular layout. The club will build and own the four corners and the individual members will build and own their own straight modules. So far ten straight modules are under way. The Olde Newburgh club is an HO and N club with a Permanent N scale layout, A permanent HO layout and a modular HO show layout. If you are interested in our endeavor we meet every Wednesday evening in the Walden VFW Post 4-8 Oak St, Walden,NY. Our website is newburghmodelrrclub.org. Nice layout, some interesting modules there. not bad video for a first attempt either. I think setting up large layouts with T-TRAK modules is easy because once you set up the tables the modules just snap together, we find we spend more time deciding how to arrange the modules than we do setting them up.
This is exciting News I have a second home in Blairstown NJ.... My future plans are to permanently move there one day. I have a friend, Tom, that lives in Stroudsburg PA that was a member of the Shore Island N Guage Association in Brooklyn NY. We go way back to 1975 when we were building an N Scale Stuff at a time when Scratch building was the norm. Our core group of N Scalers included people like Pete Postel of BLWNScale. Well, I am talking to Tom about T-Trak and he is very interested in the T-Trak format. Perhaps One Day we will get the opportunity to join you at a Meet. Presently, I travel with two modules... a Quad and a Triple. I am currently working on a single length Speedometer module. I also have 4 corner modules that are minimally sceniced. Bill :thumbs_up:
Good to hear from you Westfalen . Thanks for the compliment. Next time I will show more of all the Modules. Just for the moment I am honing my videography skills. Better lighting would have helped. Complete setup time for this layout took around 3-4 hours once all the modules were on site. I was beginning to wonder what happened to you since I did not see many posts from you lately... You will find that building t-trak modules is like eating peanuts, once you start it is hard to stop. In addition to the corners, your club might want to consider an inside corner or two and/or junction modules. With junction modules, you get 3 loops to run on. 3 instead of 2 members can operate at the same time, unless you understand DCC (I do not, I get that deer in the head lights look whenever someone starts talking about DCC) (besides, I own about 50 engines that would need the frames milled to accept a circuit board. I know Aztec does milling but the cost) The web site for NVNtrak has a great junction module with all the measurements. Lee at t-trak,org has a good inside corner drawings. Need any additional info, just ask.
Yes building modules is like eating peanuts. Unfortunatly I can't digest then anymore. I do like Chicken though. I'm building the 4 corners to be club owned, along with 6 straight modules and 2 doubles for club members. Having one person build them all ensures they will all be exactly the same (benchwork wise). Extra corners and an inside corner are in the plans. But we're going to wait to see how the base layout is received by the membership first.
I just put the frames in a vice and get stuck into them with a file, doesn't cost anything. As time goes by though and I get newer engines the incentive to convert the older ones decreases and they get pushed further back into the 'I'll get around to it one day' drawer. You can only take so many engines to a train show anyway.
Ok, I'm gonna do it. I've finally got the room in the house, and I've got enough lumber to start building modules. Now... do I model the GN, or do I start a freelance road in the same vein as the legendary Gorre & Daphetid? Guess I'll have to start a build thread.

Bill, thanks for the welcome! I too am German born, but raised in Colorado (Dad was in the Army, Mom went to visit, and here I am ) I did join the T-Trak group, as well as a couple of others. I've been pulling some good info from there. Initial plans include a Time Saver as part of an extended module, in the center, with a couple of loops on either end. Kind of a bent dogbone. The Time Saver makes for lots of tough switching, and the loops provide plenty of scale railfanning I hope.
A nice aspect of T-Trak is that you can quickly change the entire arrangement of a layout, or insert something different. I'm sure it will be all good. I'm having a great time with it here. Boxcab E50
first post to trainboard on any topic. I built the first T-Trak in the Atlanta area and my n-trak club voted to use it for a 1 day show because of the ease of setup. That was in Jan 2007 and used two tables. The next show was at the WGH show in Atlanta in Feb 2007 and used 3 tables. At our last show we used 9 tables, but were missing members that could have covered an additional 2 tables. Those of you with no club just need to build yourself a basic oval and start showing it. You will be surprised at the number of folks who will get interested and eventually build something. At the show in Jan we added 3 new members, two of which will have modules for our Feb show at the Worlds Greatest Hobby show in Atlanta. The beauty of T-Trak is what can be done in just a foot or two and how creative you can get with layouts and modules. I've been active in the yahoo group for several years and it is a very active group. There are lots of good stuff in the files section there.
