new "plain" Bachmann diesels, renumbered Not brand new, but some time ago I got my second Bachmann GP7 and then relettered them both. The original road number Bachmann chose for the PRR was not a GP7 but a SW that was mixed in the sequence of GP7 engine number (a Pennsylvania specialty as I understood). I chose two similar road numbers that were plain GP7's, and used new numbers for the cab side and patched the number boards, all using Microscale decals. The engines work well under DC. I also got two new Bachmann H16/44 and renumbered them with Shellscale decals. The H16/44 have no decoder and run well, pull a lot, and they are definitely not expensive. The car on the left is a LBF/E&C 65' mill gondola converted to BLMA 100-ton trucks, plus MTL 1015. I hope that Bachmann will do more new models of this quality level
While not a powered locomotive, this is my newest power, a Del Prado RioGrande Krauss Maffei Another view:
I added some step stripes, thin white decal stripes for the vertical rails and painted the MU receptacles to match the prototype. It's good to go now.
No pictures yet, but I just recieved 2 new CP AC4400's and 2 new CP Gevo's, along with decoders, they should be on the layout soon!
These popped-up at an online retailer recently, so I snagged 'em up. I usually don't go for the old stuff, but I really love the old streamlined locos. Any ideas what to do with them? My layout will be set mainly in the 1980s.
Send them to me as a great gift? :tb-tongue: Seriously though, what roadnames do you model on your layout? If it's CSX, you could use those for a business car special, or maybe run them on excursions.
I'm going to do mostly AA and DT&I, but I'm also into Amtrak and Chessie/CSX, which is why I acquired them in the first place. I just picked up the Micro-Trains C&O "Cameo" cars, all 6, so I'm going to do some kind of fantasy excursion train with a couple of those and maybe some old Pere Marquette and C&O coaches.
Picked up the CNW heritage SD70Ace at the Denver GTE show today. Pictures tomorrow. Maybe. Going to bed for the night now. Been going since 8:30 PM last night.
I recently made a great e%$$ deal on the LL SW9 and shop lifted the 2 SD45's when Robin wasn't looking !!!! Mike
